Executive Director Position
We’re excited to share more about an upcoming job posting for the Arts Association’s first Executive Director.
A dedicated team of three board officers (our President, Treasurer, and Secretary) will facilitate the hiring and onboarding process, ensuring that we select the best candidate to lead the Silverton Art Center. Together, SAA board leaders have created a financial runway that will see this position self-sustainable by 2027.

Art Center Painted - More Improvements Coming!
Thank you to everyone that helped us paint the Art Center! It looks so much better, and it was a pleasure to see our community in action — friends, members, teachers — all showing up to love on our buildings. We’re still finishing up here and there with trim paint, but the majority is done.
As we head further into fall, a contingent of our board is strategizing on our next grant cycle that will facilitate further improvements to the Art Center — not just repairs and paint, but new cabinets and a projector system for the classroom side to improve the experiences of our teachers and students.
We’re also building a financial runway for an Art Center Director staff position, and plan to post a job listing early next year. We see this position as an essential element to sustain and further develop our ongoing programs and keep the arts accessible and thriving in Silverton. We’re excited to share more about this soon!

Silver Falls Film Fest a Success!
The second Silver Falls Film Festival, rescheduled to August 30th because of weather, ended up on a perfectly clear and warm evening — just right as a capper to our summer season. The selected films came from locals, movie-makers from other parts of the world, and our own summer film camp students. The projects were funny, sad, vulnerable, and all together heartening. Several attendees remarked that it was the best night at the movies they’d had in a long time!

Summer Fiber Arts Camp!
Some of the projects completed in the fiber arts camp were: creating hand spun yarn, round weaving with hand spun wool, making knitted and crocheted elements, a small quilt with embroidered embellishments and making a silk painted creation in an embroidery hoop.
