SUMMER Youth Studio- Creature Camp (Youth - ages 10-16) - July 21st-25th 1pm-4pm
July 21st to July 25th — 1pm-4pm (Mon-Fri)
Instructors: Jonathan Case & Mike Turner
SILVERTON ARTS CREATURE CAMP
Have you ever wondered how cool it would be to work alongside other artists in a creative studio — one where you can bring your skills and develop new ones in disciplines like screenwriting, design, creature effects/puppets, storyboards, and film? Then join us at the Silverton Arts Creature Camp!
Creature Camp is taught by local creator Jonathan Case and focuses on creature design, puppet-building, storyboards, and illustrations. Mike Turner, who teaches the following week’s Cinema Camp, will be supporting. Crew members (students) will be allowed to try different creative tasks, guided and mentored by Jonathan. Together, we’ll build a bunch of cool stuff, and make it available for students in the following week’s Film Camp!
Each student will come away from the camp with a production folder full of our collaborative design work, a link to the next week’s finished film productions, and a sketchbook/journal to iterate on their ideas during camp and beyond!
Jonathan Case is an award-winning author/illustrator whose books are published around the world. His work includes Little Monarchs, Dear Creature, Batman ‘66, and two volumes of Over the Garden Wall.
Space is limited to 12 students for this camp.
Students who want to be involved in both Creature and Film Camp — sign up for both weeks!
Scholarships are available for this class. If you are unable to afford this class, please reach out to info@silvertonarts.org to inquire about a scholarship.
